Which U.S. trading partners are most affected by these tariffs?

We looked at trade volume data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the World Bank to see which partners are hit hardest by recent tariffs. The Census Bureau’s Automated Export System (AES) and the World Bank’s World Integrated Trade Solution (WITS) offer the granular import and export figures needed to assess tariff impacts.

Using the Census Bureau’s dataset, we quantified trade between the U.S. and its main partners: Canada, Mexico, China, and the European Union. These four entities make up a large portion of U.S. imports and exports. Recent tariffs have weighed most heavily on countries with high export volumes, especially in manufacturing and agriculture.

Cross-referencing tariff schedules with this data reveals the most affected partners. China and Mexico, for instance, have experienced notable shifts in export volumes due to U.S. policy changes.
